Hello, readers! Have you seen the final video presentation for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U yet? I have, and I had enough thoughts on it that I decided to make a quick little post about it for all of you to read! Fun!
The highlight for me (and Alayna too!) at Game-Positive was easily Bayonetta being announced as a playable fighter in the game. Bayonetta, the eponymous protagonist of her franchise, is a witch that kicks butt and has guns on her heels and it's so cool. As a feminist, I realize others won't feel the same as I do about the character (and I won't discourage diversity in opinions!), so I speak for myself when I say that Bayonetta is an incredibly empowering video game character, and one of my favorites of all-time.
Also, as someone who's only had the chance to play a demo of the first game (and subsequently vicariously experience the rest through YouTube clips and editorials and previews and reviews and so on), it is a solid action title, and, from what I've heard, Bayonetta 2 is more of that (except this time you can see a bit of her bum), so both of them get a solid recommendation from me.
Also, there was some more details on Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife, which was very cool. Final Fantasy VII being one of those famous/important games that I believe certainly deserves representation in the franchise made for celebrating video games.
Anyway, aside from the Tails & Knuckles Mii Fighter Costumes, I think we covered everything important here. Bayonetta in Smash Bros. Wow. It totally makes up for them including a misogynist who drugged a lesbian and converted her into being heterosexual.
Oh well, at least we'll be able to use them as a punching bag.
